The Iranian capital was rocked by heavy bombing once again in the early hours of the morning, according to reports on Wednesday.
Images shared on social media showed thick plumes of smoke rising above rooftops in the city's north-east.
An airstrike was reported in the Nobonyad district, where a defence industry complex is located. Explosions were also reported in other parts of the sprawling metropolis, which is home to around 15 million people.
In the city centre near Hafte Tir Square, residents described a fresh wave of attacks shortly before 6:00 AM.
"I jumped up like a frightened cat. I'm writing to you because it makes me feel alive," said prominent US-based citizen journalist Vahid, quoting a message he received from Tehran.
Vahid is a widely followed internet activist who gathers information from various sources and shares it online, often circumventing strict Iranian state censorship.
The Israeli military killed a commander in the Lebanese Corps of the IRGC's Quds Force in a Tuesday strike on Western Iran, the IDF said Wednesday.
According to the military, the commander, Mahdi Vafaei, served as head of the corps' engineering branch for 20 years. He was responsible for establishing underground weapons storage sites in Lebanon and Syria, working alongside Hezbollah and the Assad regime, the IDF said.
An oil tanker leased to the state-owned QatarEnergy was struck by an Iranian missile in Qatari territorial waters on Wednesday, the company said in a statement.
According to Qatar's defense ministry, Iran launched three cruise missiles at the country, two of which were intercepted.
No crew members on board the tanker were injured, QatarEnergy said, noting there was no environmental impact following the strike.
U.S. President Donald Trump will give an "important" speech on the state of the Iran war, his spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt said.
Trump will address the nation on Wednesday with an "important update" on Iran at 9:00 PM EST, she said.
Trump said shortly before that the United States would end its attacks in Iran in two to three weeks.
