The number of people killed in Russia’s massive overnight attack on Kyiv has increased to 11, while 46 people have been injured.
According to Ukrinform, Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko reported this on Telegram.
“According to medical services, there are now 11 victims of the enemy’s nighttime attack on Kyiv. One injured man died in hospital in the morning. Forty-six people were injured, 27 of them were hospitalized, including three children,” Klitschko said.
He added that destruction and damage were recorded in four districts of the capital, with the heaviest damage in the Podilskyi district. Residential high-rise buildings were also hit in the Darnytskyi district.
The Office of the Prosecutor General reported that the hardest-hit areas were the Darnytskyi and Podilskyi districts, while damage was also recorded in the Holosiivskyi and Obolonskyi districts.
In the Podilskyi district, apartments from the 5th to the 9th floors of one residential building were destroyed.
In the Darnytskyi district, a fire broke out and apartments from the 2nd to the 5th floors of a 25-story building were destroyed. In another residential complex in the same district, apartments in a 30-story building were also damaged by fire following debris impact.
The Prosecutor’s Office said the final number of casualties is still being established as rescue operations continue.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes resulting in death) under the procedural guidance of the Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
As reported by Ukrinform, 15 people were injured in Russia’s overnight attack on the Kyiv region, including a nine-month-old baby.
