Iran executed a man convicted of being a member of the Sunni militant group Jaish al-Adl and carrying out attacks on Iranian security forces, the semi-official Tasnim news agency reported on Sunday.
Authorities identified the man as Amer Ramesh, saying he had been arrested in a counter-terrorism operation in southeastern Iran and charged with armed rebellion, including being involved in bombings and ambushes targeting military personnel.
Jaish al-Adl is a Sunni Muslim militant group active in Iran's Sistan-Baluchestan region.
Fatah said it won most local councils, including Jenin, where the Palestinian Authority was previously accused of losing control to Hamas-linked Palestinian Islamic Jihad.
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam described the harsh actions of security forces as "unacceptable" following the man's arrest.
Hundreds of agents from several law enforcement agencies were tasked with protecting the annual bash, which President Donald Trump headlined this year.
Meanwhile, Tehran also doesn’t seem to be in a hurry. This comes as the White House has also indicated it is willing to settle in for the long term on the conflict with Iran.
