Israeli Forces Arrest Two Youths in Quneitra Incursions

Israeli forces arrested two youths in the countryside of Quneitra, southern Syria, at dawn on April 20, amid continuing military incursions in the area.

Enab Baladi’s correspondent in Quneitra said Israeli army forces arrested two youths from Bariqa, in the Quneitra countryside, after raiding and searching their home.

The two were identified as Nimr Shaaban, 18, and Omran Shaaban, 16. The reasons for the arrest were still unclear, according to the correspondent.

Israeli forces also released a man from the village of Taranja, in northern Quneitra countryside, after detaining him for several hours.

An Israeli army patrol also entered the village of al-Ajraf, near al-Mantara dam in central Quneitra countryside, without any arrests being recorded.

Quneitra Media Directorate said Sunday, April 19, saw field escalation marked by a series of Israeli military incursions and movements concentrated in northern and central Quneitra countryside.

A patrol of six military vehicles entered the village of Taranja and carried out a raid targeting one of its homes, followed by the arrest of a resident who was taken to the army base in the Jubata al-Khashab reserve.

Four military vehicles also entered the village of Al-Samdaniyah, while five military vehicles were positioned above al-Mantara dam between the towns of Al-Samdaniyah and al-Ajraf.

Israeli army incursions continue across the Quneitra countryside, accompanied by search campaigns, house raids, arrests, and the setting up of roadblocks.

Expanding a Base in Quneitra Countryside

Israeli army forces moved three prefabricated rooms to Eastern Tal al-Ahmar, in southern Quneitra province, on Friday, April 17.

This comes as part of the expansion work at the base established on the hill after the fall of the previous regime and the Israeli forces’ advance into the buffer zone. The correspondent added that Israeli forces had earlier shelled areas surrounding the hill with artillery rounds.

Eastern Tal al-Ahmar holds a strategic geographic position in the southern part of Quneitra province, as it lies inside the buffer zone along the barbed-wire fence.
