When Netanyahu announced that Ido Norden would become his new chief of staff, the Israeli media's immediate focus was on fake social media accounts: the dozen-odd X profiles bearing slight variations of Norden's name, all using his photo, all responding to posts on his podcast appearances with lines like "eloquent as always" and "sharp and to the point," a bizarre Norden-on-Norden operation that would be funny if the man behind it wasn't about to run the Prime Minister's Office. Norden denies owning the fake accounts.
