New 3rd Fleet Commander, Joint Staff Director Nominated

Four Navy flag officers have been nominated for three-star assignments, according to a Monday Pentagon announcement. Vice Adm. Scott Gray, current commander of Navy Installations Command, has been renominated for a third star to be the deputy chief of Naval Operations for Sustainment, N4, Office of the Chief of Naval Operations/commander, Navy Sustainment, according to the announcement. Gray, a career naval flight officer before commanding a series of shore installations, has led the Navy’s shore type command since late 2023.
