New components produced in 2025 in the US as well as European and Asian countries have been found in Russian UAVs, indicating that Russia is still managing to circumvent sanctions.

Details: The Ukrainian side also continues to detect components from STMicroelectronics, manufactured in Switzerland, "despite calls to monitor exactly where their products are being sold," Vlasiuk noted. All data on foreign components has been passed on to partners.
He said sanctions pressure is yielding results, but it needs to be strengthened and "workaround" supply channels to Russia must be closed.

Background:
Defence Intelligence of Ukraine released a 3D model along with the components and foreign parts used in the Russian Geran-3 UAV, series U, in September 2025. Intelligence officials also reported that Russian forces use over 100 foreign components in drones and missiles.
Electronic components manufactured in Germany continue to be found in Russian drones used to attack Ukraine, despite sanctions.
