Russian forces struck Odesa with a series of drones overnight, injuring at least 16 people, including a 17-year-old, according to Serhiy Lysak, head of the Odesa city military administration.
Two of the injured are in intensive care in serious condition, Lysak said. Police put the toll higher, at 18.
The strikes targeted residential neighborhoods and civilian infrastructure across several city districts, Lysak said, damaging apartment buildings and private homes, a kindergarten, a hotel, a parking lot, a shopping center, and other facilities.
The worst damage was in the Prymorskyi district, where large fires broke out on the upper floors and roof of a five-story residential building. Private homes and residential buildings in the city center were also hit. In the Khadzhibeyskyi district, the strikes damaged infrastructure facilities, warehouse buildings, and a garage cooperative.
The Ukrainian Air Force said Russia launched one ballistic missile and 206 strike drones overnight — at least 140 of them Shaheds — and that 172 drones were shot down.
