Casualties reported across multiple districts

Four people were killed during the attacks, according to Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

Fifteen residents were injured, three of them in serious condition, while two were undergoing surgery, Kalashnyk said in a statement on Telegram.

Medical teams were providing treatment to the wounded.

Earlier reports said two people were killed in the Brovary district and another person died in the Vyshhorod district as the scale of the attack became clearer.

Homes, schools and businesses damaged

The overnight strikes damaged around 30 buildings across the Kyiv region, officials said, with the heaviest destruction reported in the Obukhiv and Brovary districts.

In the Brovary district, the attack damaged two private homes, a dormitory, office and industrial buildings, a restaurant facility and a garage complex. Several vehicles were also destroyed.

Two schools, a kindergarten, three private houses, a multi-story residential building and industrial facilities were damaged in the Obukhiv district.

In the Vyshhorod district, a multi-apartment building and warehouse facilities were damaged, while a private house caught fire in the Bucha district.

Massive overnight attack targets energy infrastructure

President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on Telegram that Russia used around 430 drones and 68 missiles, including 13 ballistic missiles, in the massive overnight attack.

Ukrainian air defenses intercepted 58 missiles and 402 drones, Zelensky noted, though several strikes still hit civilian infrastructure, particularly energy facilities in the Kyiv region.

The attacks caused power outages in multiple regions, including Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovohrad, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine’s national grid operator Ukrenergo said.

Emergency repair work was underway where security conditions allowed.

Due to the damage to the energy system, electricity restrictions were introduced in several regions, with consumers urged to reduce usage during peak evening hours.

Zelensky warned that Russia could try to exploit the ongoing war in the Middle East to intensify attacks on Ukraine and called on partners to accelerate the delivery of air-defense systems and interceptor missiles.

Drone strike hits suburban train in Kharkiv region

Russian forces also struck a suburban train in the Kharkiv region overnight using a drone, according to Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksiy Kuleba.

Passengers were not injured in the attack, but the train driver and his assistant suffered shrapnel wounds and received medical treatment on site.

The locomotive was damaged during the strike.

Kuleba said railway services continued operating despite the drone strike and damage caused by the attack.

Shelling in Kherson injures civilians

Russian forces also struck the southern city of Kherson later in the morning, leaving six people wounded, including three children, according to the Kherson Regional Military Administration.

Three women aged 50, 47 and 78 were among those hurt when Russian fire hit the Dniprovskyi district, suffering concussions and blast injuries.

Later in the day, three children – a 12-year-old girl and two boys aged 11 and 13 – were wounded in an attack on the city center.

The youngest child suffered a shrapnel wound to the head, officials said.

Rescue teams also freed a woman trapped in a house destroyed by the strike.
