Russians attack Ukraine with 219 drones, hits recorded at 17 locations
Russia launched 219 drones overnight, with Ukrainian air defence downing 190 and strikes reported at 17 locations.

Russian forces have attacked Ukraine with 219 drones since the evening of 17 April. Ukraine's air defence has downed 190 UAVs, but 28 drones have hit 17 locations.

Quote: "Early reports indicated that as of 08:30, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 190 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones in the country's north, south and east.
Hits by 28 UAVs had been recorded at 17 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 9 locations."
Details: In total, on the night of 17-18 April (from 18:00 on 17 April), the Russians attacked Ukraine with 219 drones of various types launched from the Russian cities of Shatalovo, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as Cape Chauda in temporarily occupied Crimea.
More than 150 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
