Russian forces shelled Sloviansk in the Donetsk region on Friday, damaging private homes and apartment buildings and killing one person.
Sloviansk City Military Administration head Vadym Lyakh stated this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"Sloviansk woke up to bad news. Around 03:30, the city came under enemy fire. The type of weapon is still being identified. There were hits at four locations in different parts of Sloviansk. At least ten private houses, three apartment buildings and cars were damaged. At this time, one death has been confirmed - a man born in 1954," the city head wrote.

He noted that, as of now, part of the Sloviansk community remains without electricity and water supply due to the shelling, but repair work is underway.
As previously reported, four people were killed and 13 others injured in Russian attacks across the Donetsk region on July 2.
