A drone attack was reported in Russia's Leningrad Oblast on the night of 6-7 April. Local social media channels are reporting strikes and damage to an oil pipeline in the area of the port of Ust-Luga.

Details: Just days after the previous attack, drones struck the port of Ust-Luga in Russia's Leningrad Oblast once again.

Leningrad Oblast Governor Oleksandr Drozdenko stated that 22 drones were shot down over the region.

Russian Telegram channel Astra and the monitoring channel Exilenova+ reported that the port itself was struck.

Ust-Luga is one of Russia's key Baltic ports, used for oil exports, including by the shadow fleet.

According to Bloomberg, the facility had only recently resumed operations following earlier disruptions.

Planet Labs satellite imagery previously confirmed fires at Novatek terminals following attacks in March 2026.

Background:

  • On the morning of 5 April, Russia's Leningrad Oblast reported an attack by 19 drones and damage to an oil pipeline in the area of the port of Primorsk.
  • President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that following Ukrainian strikes in March on oil refineries in Russia's Leningrad Oblast, approximately 40% of capacity remained.
  • On the night of 28-29 March, Russia's Leningrad Oblast was struck by drones once again, causing a fire to break out at the port of Ust-Luga.
