The majority of Poles do not believe Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine will end any time soon, the results of a new poll show.
More than 76% of respondents in a survey by United Surveys for media outlet Wirtualna Polska said they do not think the conflict will end in 2026, with 38.6% opting for “definitely not” and 37.6% choosing “probably not.”

There were far fewer optimistic answers. Only 5.4% of respondents answered “definitely yes” and 11.5% “probably yes.”
Slightly less than 8% picked the “I don’t know” or “It’s hard to say” options.
Survey respondents tended to answer differently depending on their political tendencies, although skeptical views dominated among all groups.
Among those who support Poland’s governing coalition, led by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the number of respondents who believed the war would not end in 2026 was 87%, the highest of all groups.
Some 73% of those backing the main right-wing opposition felt the same, along with 62% of those who prefer factions outside of the two main parties.
United Surveys interviewed 1,000 Poles over the age of 18 using online or telephone interviews.
