UK declines Trump's offer of sending warships to Hormuz

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on Monday refused to send warships to help reopen the Strait of Hormuz after US President Donald Trump called on allies to reinforce efforts to secure the waterway, The Telegraph reported.

Energy Secretary Ed Miliband said the government was “intensively looking” at options to keep the route open but stopped short of committing naval vessels.

Officials are considering deploying mine-hunting drones instead. Allies including France, Germany and South Korea, also show reluctance to join the proposed mission.
