Background:
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said that Hungarian authorities in Budapest had taken seven Ukrainian employees of the state-owned Oschadbank hostage and seized money and valuables on 5 March.
Oschadbank said the individuals were two cash collection teams transporting money and valuables under an international agreement with Raiffeisen Bank (Austria). The valuables in the seized vehicles amounted to US$40 million, €35 million and 9 kilograms of gold.
According to European Pravda sources, Hungary has hidden the seized Oschadbank cash-in-transit vehicles in a restricted area belonging to its Counter-Terrorism Centre.
