Ukrainian Drones Strike Strategic Krasnodar Marine Terminals

Ukrainian long-range strike drones penetrated deep into Russia’s southern tier overnight Friday-Saturday, striking a vital cluster of maritime ports on the Azov Sea coast, Exilenova+, ASTRA and Crimean Wind Telegram channels reported.

Double blazes at the port complex

The aerial assault targeted the Temryuk district of Russia’s Krasnodar Krai, located on the strategically critical Taman Peninsula. Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev acknowledged the midnight incursion, utilizing the typical official narrative that “falling drone debris” triggered a fire at a local marine terminal. Kondratyev confirmed that the attack resulted in one civilian fatality and left three others wounded.

“As for the fire, it is being extinguished by 96 people, with more than 30 units of equipment involved, including from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. Operational and special services continue to work on the spot,” the governor stated.

Despite local attempts to downplay the precision of the raid, independent monitoring channel Exilenova+ and independent intelligence reports confirmed that the Armed Forces of Ukraine compromised two separate infrastructure nodes within the port zone.

A fire erupted on the grounds of the Tamanneftegas liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) terminal. Holding a reservoir capacity of 28,800 cubic meters, it stands as the largest transshipment complex for liquefied hydrocarbons in the south of Russia.

Putin Admits Russian Troops ‘Can’t Raise Their Heads’ Because of Ukrainian Drones

Putin’s Russia Day remarks made public what Russians already know: Ukrainian drones have reshaped the battlefield, forcing the Kremlin to scramble for answers.

A secondary blaze was documented further inland, tearing through a cargo transport parking lot and adjacent warehouse storage networks.

Serhiy Sternenko, advisor to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense, confirmed that the primary target was the Port of Temryuk. This strategic universal transshipment hub handles critical military-adjacent commodities, including petroleum products, chemical payloads, grain, coal, and heavy metals destined for the war effort.

The Russian Ministry of Defense later claimed its air defense units had “intercepted” 177 Ukrainian UAVs across 13 domestic provinces and occupied Crimea overnight.

Systematic demolition of Russian refining power

The port bombings on Saturday represent the second leg of a highly coordinated campaign designed to paralyze Russia’s domestic fuel distribution and defense manufacturing.

Just 24 hours prior, on Friday, Ukraine marked Russia Day by unleashing a swarm of over 230 drones that triggered automated airspace closures and forced the cancellation of state holidays deep within the Russian interior. During that Friday campaign, Ukraine’s General Staff confirmed successful strikes against the Taneko and Taif-NK refineries.

Located in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan – nearly 1,000 kilometers from the Ukrainian border – these high-tech facilities process over 16 million tons of crude annually, including heavy high-sulfur oil and gas condensate specialized for military aviation and bulk fuel needs.

Furthermore, the strikes targeted the Togliattikauchuk plant situated in the Samara region, a critical chemical asset that produces synthetic rubbers used directly in the manufacturing of solid rocket fuel for Russian tactical and ballistic missile systems.

The General Staff also confirmed that follow-up assessments of a prior June 10 drone raid on Samara’s Kuibyshev refinery revealed total destruction of its primary AVT-4 and AVT-5 oil processing units, forcing the entire mega-plant to completely halt operations.

By systematically pairing the destruction of mainland refineries with high-impact strikes against export and supply hubs like Port Temryuk, Ukrainian forces are forcing the Kremlin to fight an increasingly costly defensive battle to protect its remaining industrial base.
