Ukrainian Navy strikes Russian boats guarding Kerch Bridge – video

The Ukrainian Navy struck Russian vessels involved in protecting the Kerch Bridge on the night of 29-30 April.

Quote: "Assets and personnel from the Ukrainian Navy struck vessels belonging to a Russian flotilla near the Kerch Strait on the night of 29-30 April 2026."

Details: The attack hit the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) patrol boat Sobol and the anti-sabotage vessel Grachonok.

The strike resulted in casualties for the Russians.

Footage posted by the Ukrainian Navy shows Russian vessels being hit near the Kerch Strait during the nighttime operation.

The Ukrainian Navy said the boats, used to guard the Kerch Bridge and counter sabotage groups, are key assets of the FSB Border Service's Coast Guard and the Russian Navy.

"This is yet another example of the effective work of the Ukrainian Navy and the systematic reduction of the enemy's capabilities in the Black Sea area," the Navy said.

Background:

  • On 21 April and on the night of 21-22 April, Ukraine's defence forces carried out strikes against a Russian naval vessel traffic centre for the Black Sea Fleet and other Russian assets.
  • Prior to that, CyberBoroshno, a Ukrainian OSINT community, stated that an analysis of operations by the Security Service of Ukraine's Special Operations Centre Alpha (17-18 April) and Defence Intelligence of Ukraine's special unit Prymary (18-19 April) in Sevastopol Bay had confirmed strikes on five ships belonging to Russia's Black Sea Fleet.
