Air Defense Forces shot down 72 of 94 drones used by Russian invaders to attack Ukraine since the evening of July 8.
According to Ukrinform, the Ukrainian Air Force reported this on Telegram.
Starting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, the Russians launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea, as well as 94 Shahed-type combat UAVs (including jet-powered ones), Gerbera, Italmas, and Parodiya-type decoy drones from the following directions: Bryansk, Millerovo, Orel (Russian Federation), Hvardiiske (Crimea), and the temporarily occupied city of Donetsk.
The air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, Air Defense Forces shot down or neutralized 72 drones in northern, southern, and eastern Ukraine.
Two ballistic missiles and 19 attack UAVs were recorded striking 13 locations, and debris from downed targets was found at four locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones currently in the airspace.
As reported by Ukrinform, four people were killed, and six were injured in Odesa as a result of a Russian missile strike on the evening of July 8. A civilian infrastructure facility was damaged.
