China and Russia will hold joint naval exercises in Chinese waters and airspace in July.
Bloomberg stated this in an article, citing a statement from China's Ministry of National Defense released on Sunday, Ukrinform reports.
It is noted that the exercises will take place in the waters and airspace near Qingdao, after which the two sides will conduct joint naval patrols in the Pacific Ocean.
China's defense ministry said that the Joint Sea-2026 exercises are part of the annual cooperation plan between the armed forces of the two countries, aimed at "addressing security challenges and promoting peace and stability in the region."
The ministry did not provide detailed information about the timing of the exercises or the composition of the forces that will take part in them.
As Ukrinform reported, according to media reports, at the end of last year the armed forces of China secretly trained about 200 Russian military personnel on Chinese territory, after which some of them returned to fight in Ukraine.
