Gadi Eisenkot is one of the few people who were in on Gideon Sa'ar's December 2020 decision to leave Likud and form a new party. Sa'ar courted him eagerly and offered him the No. 2 slot on the slate of candidates. But Eisenkot passed, and watched from afar when the party won just six Knesset seats.
