Israel denying Palestinian women medical care in prison

Palestinian women are facing “catastrophic” conditions in Israel’s Damon Prison, according to a report by the Palestinian Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Commission.

The Commission cited severe overcrowding, deliberate medical neglect, and the denial of basic human rights.

Damon Prison, which currently holds 87 Palestinian women, is also reportedly denying pregnant prisoners necessary media care and basic necessities.

The Commission added that women are only allowed outside their cells for one hour per day for recreation and showering, and face poor-quality food and shortages of clothing, personal belongings, and hygiene products.
