• Media reports suggest that Washington has conveyed to Iran that it should publicly announce that traffic through the Strait of Hormuz would be allowed toll-free while acknowledging Tehran messed up the truce by attacking vessels.
• Traffic in the strait falls sharply, with only six vessels passing through on the night of 9-10 July. This was the third night of reduced traffic in the critical waterway, where Iranian attacks on ships led to a renewed exchange of fire between the US and Iran.
