The biggest flashpoint right now is the Strait of Hormuz, where a planned US naval escort mission is already drawing sharp warnings from Tehran. Donald Trump says “Project Freedom” will help move stranded ships, but Iran says any US presence there would break the ceasefire.

At the same time, fighting continues in southern Lebanon, maritime disruption is worsening, and diplomacy still looks uncertain despite negotiations.  

Iran's military has issued a warning that all foreign armed forces, especially the "aggressive US army", will be attacked if they attempt to approach the Strait of Hormuz.

The US military has mobilised aircraft and troops for the maritime escort operation in the Straight of Hormuz. 

Around 20,000 seafarers are stranded as the Hormuz crisis disrupts global shipping, the International Maritime Organisation has said.
