Quote: "The enemy once again launched a large-scale strike on Naftogaz gas production facilities in Poltava and Kharkiv oblasts. They struck treacherously and brutally – using UAVs and ballistic weapons. We have suffered significant damage and loss of production."

Background:

  • Vitalii Diakivnych, Head of Poltava Oblast Military Administration, reported that four people had been killed and a further 31 injured in a Russian combined strike on Poltava Oblast on the night of 4-5 May.
  • Two firefighters were killed and 23 injured in a Russian double-tap missile strike on a facility in Poltava Oblast, where they were extinguishing a large fire caused by an earlier attack.
  • The intensity of attacks on Naftogaz infrastructure is increasing. On 4 May alone, Russian forces struck five facilities of the group in Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts, causing fires at the sites.
