Following a drone attack on the night of 26-27 May, smoke was reported near the Baltimor military airbase in the Russian city of Voronezh, while an explosion was reported in Tuapse, likely near an oil refinery.

Details: Gusev said in the morning that a missile threat alert had been issued in the region.

Later, he claimed that Russian air defence forces had shot down two high-speed aerial assets over Voronezh.

Meanwhile, photos and videos circulating on social media showed smoke rising near the Baltimor military airfield.

Residents of Voronezh reported explosions and smoke over the city on the morning of 27 May. An analysis by Astra suggests that the smoke is visible over the Baltimor airbase.

According to open-source data, the airfield hosts the 47th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment. The base is regularly used by the Russian Aerospace Forces for airstrikes against Ukraine.

Meanwhile, the Tuapse operational staff reported that drone debris had fallen on the territory of a marine terminal. "A fire broke out due to the fall of debris from drones and was promptly extinguished," it said.

One of the explosions in Tuapse likely occurred near the local oil refinery, Astra reported after analysing footage of the strike.

This marks at least the fifth attack on the facility in spring 2026. The RN-Tuapse Refinery and the RN-Marine Terminal in Tuapse form a single production complex owned by Russian energy giant Rosneft.

On the morning of 27 May, Russia's Ministry of Defence claimed that 140 drones had been shot down over the territories of Belgorod, Volgograd, Voronezh, Kursk, Oryol and Tula oblasts, Krasnodar Krai, occupied Crimea and over the waters of the Sea of Azov and Black Sea.
