Russian forces carried out a massive drone attack on the Shostka community in Ukraine's Sumy region overnight.
The head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, Oleh Hryhorov, reported the attack on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.
"Ukraine's Defense Forces managed to destroy some of the enemy drones. Unfortunately, there were also strikes on targets. Preliminary information indicates that there were no fatalities or injuries," Hryhorov said.
According to him, civilian infrastructure sustained damage and destruction. Residential and non-residential buildings, administrative facilities, and vehicles were damaged.
Emergency response and recovery efforts are ongoing. All relevant services are working at the scene, and residents are being provided with the necessary assistance, Hryhorov added.
The full extent of the damage is still being assessed.
As Ukrinform previously reported, from the morning of May 28 to the morning of May 29, Russian forces carried out nearly 80 attacks on 37 settlements across 18 territorial communities in the Sumy region. Two people were killed and three others were injured.
