In the temporarily occupied Crimea, the Saki Thermal Power Plant caught fire following explosions.
This was reported by the monitoring group of the Telegram channel “Krymsky Veter,” citing satellite imagery, according to Ukrinform.
“The Saki Thermal Power Plant, which was attacked, has sustained significant damage. The main building of the plant has been completely burned down; one fuel tank has been destroyed, and another has been damaged,” the report states.
It is noted that no smoke is visible from the chimneys, and the thermal power plant is not operating.
On the night of June 28, the Saki TPP plant was attacked. Over the course of an hour, there were 16 explosions accompanied by flashes, and a major fire broke out.
The Saki Thermal Power Plant has an electrical capacity of 149.4 MW and a thermal capacity of 138 Gcal/hour. The plant is the main producer of thermal energy in Saki.
Power outages are in effect in the city of Saki and the Saki district.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported that Crimea is on the verge of widespread internet outages due to power cuts and a fuel shortage.
