Quote: "The enemy uses the Pantsir to cover small critical areas and specific military and industrial facilities and to reinforce air defence groupings at low and extremely low altitudes against large-scale strikes by aerial attack weapons."

Details: DIU also noted that Pantsir-S1 systems "were deployed as early as 2023 on the rooftops of buildings in central Moscow, notably to protect the Kremlin".

According to intelligence reports, the system's primary combat asset is a combat vehicle on which detection, tracking and engagement systems are mounted.

"A distinctive feature of the system is the combination of missile and gun armament, which enables continuous fire at various ranges and altitudes," the intelligence agency stated.

DIU also published data on 52 companies involved in the production of the 72V6 Pantsir-S1 system combat vehicle.

Intelligence reports state that 10 of them are still not subject to sanctions by any country in the sanctions coalition.

Among them are:

  • Kazan Electrotechnical Plant, which produces and supplies angular acceleration measurement units and backup power supply units for Pantsir systems
  • Centre for Technology Commercialisation JSC, which supplies 1VS1-1K computing system units
  • Armavir Electrotechnical Plant, which manufactures electric fans for Pantsir's target detection station

DIU stressed that the synchronisation of sanctions pressure, increased enforcement of sanctions compliance and real accountability for violations are the key factors in limiting Russia's military capabilities and establishing peace and stability in the world.

Background: DIU previously posted an interactive 3D model and information on the main components and parts of the Klin loitering munition, as well as an interactive 3D model and information on the components and electronic component base of the new Russian S-71K Kover cruise missile, developed for the Su-57 fighter jet.
