“Our warriors started Ukraine’s Constitution Day very accurately. Tonight, our long-range sanctions reached two oil refineries in Russia,” the head of state wrote.

Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian defenders struck the Slavyansk oil refinery in Russia’s southern Krasnodar region, noting that the enterprise is located approximately 300 kilometers (186 miles) from the front line. Additionally, he announced a successful strike on a refinery in the Yaroslavl region, which sits roughly 700 kilometers (435 miles) deep inside Russian territory.

“We are continuing our operations, which weaken Russia’s ability to wage this war,” Zelensky stated. “Every single one of our long-range sanctions means a reduction in the resources working for the Russian war machine, and another step toward peace. We will continue to respond to Russian terror.”

He concluded his message by thanking the military and Ukraine’s allies: “Thank you to the warriors for these results! I am grateful to everyone who helps us. Everyone who defends Ukraine also affirms the power of the Constitution.”

Drone Strikes Ignite Fires at Russia’s Slavyansk Refinery and Crimean Power Plant

A massive drone strike overnight Saturday-Sunday ignited fires at the Slavyansk oil refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar region and the Saki thermal power plant in occupied Crimea.

Fires and infrastructure damage

The president’s confirmation aligns with earlier reports of massive drone assaults on Russian energy infrastructure early Sunday morning.

Following a series of explosions, a significant fire engulfed parts of the Slavyansk refinery in the Krasnodar region. Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev confirmed the incident, stating that falling drone debris ignited the blaze and damaged local power lines, a gas pipe, and several private homes, resulting in one fatality and one injury.

The Slavyansk refinery is a critical asset for the Russian military-industrial complex, producing aviation fuel and motor gasoline, and serving as a primary logistical node for fueling the Russian army and forces stationed in occupied Crimea. Open-source intelligence and satellite data corroborated the presence of active fire zones near the facility’s fuel reservoirs.

Simultaneously, Mikhail Yevrayev, thegovernor of Russia’s Yaroslavl region, announced that exits from the city of Yaroslavl were temporarily blocked on Sunday morning due to a severe drone threat.

The strikes on the refineries coincided with a separate, sustained aerial attack on the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula, where a fire broke out at the Saki Thermal Power Plant following multiple explosions.

The Russian Ministry of Defense claimed its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 213 drones overnight, though the confirmed impacts on strategic industrial sites suggest a substantial number of Ukrainian munitions successfully bypassed those defenses.
