Infrastructure facilities belonging to Ukrposhta, Ukraine's national postal service, have been damaged or destroyed as a result of Russian attacks on Kyiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Sumy oblasts.

Details: In Kyiv Oblast, the central branch in Brovary was hit and a fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished by the emergency services.

Near Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, Russian drones destroyed a mobile branch, but the crew managed to reach shelter in time. A reserve unit will replace the mobile branch, which serves the village of Vyshchetarasivka.

A stationary branch in Nikopol was also hit but is expected to be repaired quickly.

In Sumy Oblast, a guided aerial bomb completely destroyed the Ukrposhta branch in the village of Bereza. The branch manager is in hospital and is under observation, but her injuries are not life-threatening.

"Ukrposhta continues to operate even under fire, providing communities with essential services," the Ministry added.

Background:

  • On the night of 13-14 March, Russian forces carried out a large-scale missile and drone attack on Kyiv Oblast, killing four people and injuring at least 15.
  • The same night, the Russians launched a combined attack using 498 aerial assets – drones and missiles – of which the Air Force reported 460 as shot down or jammed.
  • Production facilities operated by the Ukrainian clothing brands JUL and Tago were destroyed in the large-scale Russian attack on Brovary.
