Destroyer USS Mustin Arrives at New Homeport in Japan

Destroyer USS Mustin (DDG-89) arrived Monday at its new forward-deployed homeport in Yokosuka, Japan, joining forward-deployed Destroyer Squadron 15. Mustin joins U.S. 7th Fleet after nearly five years in San Diego. This marks the second time the destroyer has been forward deployed to Yokosuka, having previously been deployed there from 2006 to 2021, according to a Navy release published the same day. “Mustin Nation is proud to return to Japan,” Cmdr.
