When Hezbollah joined the war, it seemed like the Israel Defense Forces was ready to open a bottle of champagne. "Hezbollah fell into a strategic trap," Maj. Gen. Rafi Milo, the head of the Northern Command, told the leaders of the local authorities in the north. That was the line taken in all background briefings.
