Iran restarts 'gradual' gas supply to Iraq
The Iraqi Electricity Ministry announced Saturday the "gradual resumption of Iranian gas supply," according to state media cited in the Wall Street Journal.
Gas imports from Iran restarted after a three-day hiatus, but at a sharply reduced rate of just five million cubic meters per day, well below the contracted 50 million, according to Iraqi oil officials.
Iran halted gas supplies to Iraq on Wednesday, after Israel struck Iran's South Pars gas field, the largest such facility in the world that it shares with Qatar.
