RECAP: IDF kills three in Gaza, says two soldiers wounded, Palestinian killed in West Bank

Here are Wednesday's latest updates from the U.S.-Iran cease-fire and Israel's war with Hezbollah:

■ Israeli drone strikes killed three Palestinians and wounded several others in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday, according to Palestinian reports.

■ U.S. President Donald Trump has instructed aides to prepare for an extended blockade of Iran, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing U.S. officials.

■ The IDF said it killed a Palestinian who attacked soldiers during a raid in the West Bank town of Silwad, adding that two soldiers were wounded and another Palestinian was detained.

■ The Israeli military said it killed three Hezbollah militants "who advanced a shooting attack against IDF soldiers" in Lebanon on Tuesday, adding that, in a separate incident, a Hezbollah explosive-laden drone detonated near IDF soldiers, lightly wounding one.

■ The judges in Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's graft trial rejected his request to shorten his Wednesday testimony due to a "security schedule."

■ Twelve of the ultra-Orthodox protesters who broke into the yard of the Military Police commander's house in Ashkelon, southern Israel, are expected to be brought for a custody hearing later on Wednesday.

■ The Israeli military and Shin Bet security service said they killed the head of Hamas' military intelligence operations in a strike in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

■ Police arrested a 36-year-old man on suspicion of attacking a nun in a Jerusalem hate crime.

IDF says it killed Hamas' intelligence operations chief

The Israeli military and Shin Bet security service said they killed the head of Hamas' military intelligence operations in a strike in the northern Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

The man, whom the IDF identified as Iyad Ahmed Abd al-Rahman Shambari, has been coordinating Hamas' operations in the entire Gaza Strip in recent years and was a central factor in gathering intelligence on IDF troops to carry out attacks, the military said.

According to the IDF, Shambari also took an active part in planning the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, 2023.

Court to discuss arrest of Haredi protesters who broke into IDF police chief's home

Twelve of the ultra-Orthodox protesters who broke into the yard of the Military Police commander's house in Ashkelon, southern Israel, are expected to be brought for a custody hearing later on Wednesday.

Another 13 people who were detained or arrested on Tuesday night after breaking into Brig. Gen. Yuval Yamin's house have been released. Earlier on Tuesday, dozens demonstrated outside Yamin's house in protest of IDF arrests of Haredi dodgers, breaking into the premises while his wife and children were inside. Yamin himself was not at home at the time.

According to police, the protesters "broke the house wall, trespassed and behaved violently." IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir condemned the break-in, saying the protesters have "crossed a red line."

Netanyahu requests to shorten graft trial hearing due to 'security schedule'

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu requested that the court shorten his Wednesday testimony in his graft trial by three hours, citing a "security schedule."

"Due to a security schedule, which is further detailed in a sealed envelope handed to the honorable court and the prosecution for review, the court is requested to set that the hearing on April 29, 2026, will take place between 12:30 P.M. and 4 P.M.," Netanyahu's motion reads.

"The request and the details in the sealed envelope were forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office for an official response," it reads. "Due to the time constraints, the request is submitted without a response from the Prosecutor's Office, which will be forwarded directly to the honorable court."
