Partisans set fire to three electronic warfare towers in Russia to enable strike on aircraft repair plant
Members of the Atesh underground resistance movement have said they destroyed three mobile communication towers equipped with electronic warfare antennas in Russia in coordination with Ukrainian forces to help enable a strike on a Russian aircraft repair plant.

Details: Atesh said the coordinated sabotage operation was carried out on 17 March.
Its aim was to weaken electronic warfare systems in Novgorod Oblast.
Quote: "In coordination with the defence forces of Ukraine, three mobile communication towers equipped with electronic warfare antennas that created interference along the drone route were destroyed.
After their destruction, the air corridor opened – and the defence forces' UAVs were able to pass along this route without interference and strike the aircraft repair plant in the city of Staraya Russa."
Details: According to Atesh, the towers were burned at three locations – near Okhvat in Tver Oblast, and near Demyansk and Valday in Novgorod Oblast.
"These nodes created interference for the defence forces' UAVs along the entire section of the route," the movement added.
Quote: "The target was worth the effort. The plant specialises in the repair and maintenance of the Russian Aerospace Forces' military transport aircraft – Il-76 and Il-78 aircraft, as well as D-30KP and AI-20 engines. At the time of the strike, two A-50 airborne early warning aircraft – among the scarcest assets in the Russian Aerospace Forces – were on the plant's premises.
Repairs will take months. During this time, Putin's army will not receive repaired engines and will not be able to repair equipment that was already undergoing maintenance."
Background: On 17 March, Ukrainian forces struck facilities at the 123rd Aircraft Repair Plant in Staraya Russa in Russia's Novgorod Oblast.
