Putin's claims about occupation of Kostiantynivka are false – Ukraine's General Staff
The information provided by Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin about the alleged occupation of the settlement of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast by Russian troops is not true, Ukraine's General Staff has stated.

The information provided byKremlin leader Vladimir Putin about the alleged occupation of the settlement of Kostiantynivka in Donetsk Oblast by Russian troops is not true, Ukraine's General Staff has stated.

Details: Kovalov stressed that, according to theDzvin automated command-and-controlsystembelonging tothe Armed Forces of Ukraine's Operational Control Centre and the DELTAbattlefield situational awarenesssystem, the settlement of Kostiantynivka remains under the control of Ukraine's defence forces.
Kovalov noted that military units and subdivisionsfromthe Skhid (East) group of forcesare continuingdefensive operations within Kostiantynivka and on the approaches to the city.
However, Kovalov added that there are cases of small Russian infantry groups infiltratingthe area; counter-sabotage measures are ongoing in Kostiantynivka.
Quote from Kovalov: "On 3 July, the enemy carried out 11 assault actions on this front, without success. Instead, the enemy,andnot for the first time, is resorting to spreadingblatantdisinformation and fakenews at the highest official level.
Ukrainian defenders continue to hold their positions alongthedesignated lines. The situation remains difficult but is under the control of Ukraine's defence forces."
