Russia attacks Ukraine with 172 drones overnight, hits recorded at 12 locations
Russia launched 172 drones overnight, with Ukrainian air defences intercepting most of them, though strikes were recorded in several locations.

Russia attacked Ukraine with 172 drones on the night of 1-2 April. Ukrainian air defences have downed 147 UAVs, although hits have been recorded at 12 locations.

Details: From 18:00 on 1 April, Russian forces launched Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones from the Russian cities of Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from temporarily occupied Donetsk and Hvardiiske in Crimea.
About 120 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
Early reports indicated that as of 08:00, Ukrainian air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 147 Russian drones in the country's north, south and east.
Hits by 22 UAVs had been recorded at 12 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at 8 locations.
The attack is ongoing.
