Russia attacks Ukraine with Iskander missile and 206 drones, most of them intercepted by air defences
Ukraine’s air defences downed 172 out of 206 Russian drones overnight, although a ballistic missile and several UAVs struck targets across the country.

Russia has attacked Ukraine with an Iskander-M ballistic missile and 206 Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas and other types of drones since the evening of 29 April. Air defences have managed to down 172 of the drones, although some strikes have been recorded.
Quote:"As of 08:00, [Ukrainian] air defence forces had destroyed or jammed 172 enemy drones in the country's north, south, west and east. Hits by one ballistic missile and 32 UAVs had been recorded at 22 locations and the fall of downed aerial assets (debris) at nine locations."
Details:The missile was launched from Russia's Rostov Oblast, while the drones came from the Russian cities of Kursk, Bryansk, Shatalovo, Oryol, Millerovo and Primorsko-Akhtarsk as well as from Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
Over 140 of the UAVs were Shahed loitering munitions.
Aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare assets, unmanned systems units and mobile fire groups from Ukraine's defence forces have been involved in repelling the attack.
The attack is ongoing, as several Russian drones are still in Ukrainian airspace.
