Commuter train services in Sumy Oblast have been temporarily suspended after Russian strikes damaged railway infrastructure.

Details: This decision has been taken because Russian forces had deliberately targeted railway facilities in the oblast. The damage is significant enough that several days will be needed to conduct emergency repairs before trains can run safely again.

Quote: "It will take some time to fully restore commuter rail services in Sumy Oblast after enemy strikes on infrastructure."

Background: A Russian drone struck a suburban passenger train travelling from Smorodyne to Vorozhba near Sumy on 14 March. The passengers were evacuated.
