In the East China Sea

Aircraft carrier USS George Washington (CVN-73) departed Saturday from Yokosuka, Japan, according to ship spotters. Command ship USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) departed Wednesday from Yokosuka, Japan, according to ship spotters.
In the South China Sea

Amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD-4) departed Saturday from Singapore, according to ship spotters.
The Boxer Amphibious Ready Group includes Boxer, USS Comstock (LSD-45), USS Portland (LPD-27) and the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Comstock is in U.S. 5th Fleet while Portland is still operating in the Western Pacific.
In the Caribbean Sea

A single ship from the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group is operating in the Caribbean Sea after a 10-month deployment.
USS Fort Lauderdale (LPD-28) will remain in the region while USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7) and the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit return from deployment. The 22nd MEU is set to return Monday to Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Base New River, and Iwo Jima is expected in the coming days to its Naval Station Norfolk, Va., homeport.
The 22nd MEU consists of Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 263 (Reinforced), Combat Logistics Battalion 26 and the Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment. The 24th MEU will replace the 22nd MEU as the “immediate crisis response force” and will be spread throughout the region instead of deploying with an amphibious ready group, USNI News reported.
Guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG-70) has also been operating in the region. Lake Erie is homeported at Naval Base San Diego, Calif. Littoral Combat Ship USS Billings (LCS-15) was also operating in the Caribbean Sea as of last week. Billings is based at Naval Station Mayport, Fla.
Ship spotters observed USS Iwo Jima (LHD-7) off the coast of North Carolina on Monday. The big deck amphibious warship deployed from Norfolk, Va., on Aug. 14, 2026, USNI News reported at the time.
In Kingston, Jamaica

Aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN-68) and destroyer escort USS Gridley (DDG-101) are operating in the Caribbean. Nimitz will arrive Monday in Kingston, Jamaica, for a port visit.
The carrier is in the region as part of the exercise “Southern Seas 2026.” Nimitz is circumnavigating South America en route to Virginia, where it will eventually be decommissioned. The Navy recently announced that it would extend the carrier’s service life by 10 months, keeping it active into 2027, USNI News reported.
In Portsmouth, England

Command ship USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20) departed Tuesday from Rota, Spain, and arrived Sunday in Portsmouth, England, according to ship spotters.

Amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD-3) arrived Wednesday in New Orleans, La., for Sail 250, according to ship spotters.
