Quote:"In my view, these people are definitely not willing to end the war… [But] if Russia chooses the path of de-escalation, I believe a trilateral meeting will take place. They will try to have it take place in April, May or June. I think these are key months for them. And I believe we'll have a tough time until September."
Details:Zelenskyy noted that the US will be increasingly focused on its domestic elections from the beginning of summer.
"So this spring-summer period will be quite politically and diplomatically challenging. There might be pressure on Ukraine. And on the battlefield too. But we understand Ukraine's national interests and what can guarantee security," the president said.
He believes it is vital to maintain enough pressure on Russia over this period.
"For example, our partners could hold an absolutely unprecedented, historic, turning-point and, in a certain sense, victorious NATO summit this year. But that depends on them, on what they are truly willing to do and whether they responsibly address the threats that exist not against one country, but against everyone," Zelenskyy concluded.
