On the night of July 8, drones attacked the Russian city of Saratov. Fires were reported in the city.
According to Ukrinform, the ASTRA Telegram channel reported this.
“Ukrainian drones attacked an oil refinery in Saratov,” the post states.
Eyewitness footage shows that a fire broke out after the strike. An ASTRA OSINT analyst confirmed that the industrial facility had been hit.
So far, the governor of the Saratov region has only reported a threat from UAVs.
“We have received information from the Ministry of Defense about a threat from UAVs. Local warning systems may be activated in areas of potential threat,” Governor Roman Busargin wrote on his Telegram channel.
The Saratov Oil Refinery was attacked in May of this year. The facility is owned by Rosneft. The Saratov Oil Refinery is one of the oldest oil refineries in the Russian Federation. As of 2023, the plant’s oil refining capacity stood at 4.8 million metric tons.
As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of May 31, 2026, units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Saratov Oil Refinery, the Lazarevo production and dispatch station in the Kirov region, and other enemy targets.
