French newspaper Le Figaro said the primary suspect is a Ukrainian citizen in her 30s who currently resides in Germany.

CCTV footage from Monday showed an individual leaving a package in the entrance hall of a residential building on Rue Révérend Père Louis Frolla in Monaco. The device detonated shortly after, injuring residents as they entered the building.

Following the explosion, the suspect was recorded moving toward the neighboring French commune of Beausoleil.

While the individual on the security footage wore a black hat and was initially identified as male, local media later reported the suspect was a woman concealing her identity.

Monaco’s public prosecutor, Stéphane Thibault, declined to comment on the suspect’s identity but acknowledged the joint efforts of police from Monaco and France.

Thibault said their cooperation made it possible “to identify, in a particularly short time, the person suspected of having carried out the attack.”

Authorities confirmed the case is being investigated as attempted murder rather than a terrorist attack. Preliminary findings indicated the explosive device was packed with bolts and metal pellets.

Russian Strike Kills 7-Year-Old Child, Injures Two Other Children in Eastern Ukraine

Russian attacks killed three civilians across eastern and south-central Ukraine on Thursday, including a seven-year-old child near Synelnykove.

French broadcaster BFMTV reported that the blast injured Iermolaiev, his wife, and their 13-year-old son. Iermolaiev and his wife were hospitalized in serious condition, while prosecutors said the teenager’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Iermolaiev is the founder of the Dnipro-based industrial and trading group Alef. In 2021, Forbes estimated his net worth at $220 million. However, he renounced his Ukrainian citizenship in 2019 and subsequently obtained Cypriot nationality.

In 2023, President Volodymyr Zelensky enacted a 10-year sanctions package against Iermolaiev based on allegations concerning his alcohol businesses in Russian-occupied Crimea, where his companies reportedly paid taxes to the Russian government.
