Navy Identifies Helicopter Squadron Commander As Missing Sailor in Arabian Sea

Cmdr. Gabriel Edwards, commanding officer of Helicopter Sea Squadron 5, embarked on USS George H.W. Bush (CVN-77), died July 1 after his helicopter ditched into the Arabian Sea, the Navy announced late Tuesday. Edwards was one of four sailors aboard the MH-60S helicopter when it landed in the water. The other three sailors were rescued. The Navy called off the search for Edwards after four days.
