Nine people have been killed and 23 injured in a Russian missile and drone attack on the city of Odesa on the night of 15-16 April.

Quote from Kiper: "Sadly, nine people have been confirmed dead in Odesa following the nighttime attack, with another 23 injured. Search and rescue operations and efforts to deal with the aftermath are ongoing at the scene."

Details: Lysak said the strikes had damaged infrastructure facilities and a residential building in the Khadzhybeiskyi district. The blast wave shattered over 300 windows in several buildings.

Damage was also reported in one of the parks in the Prymorskyi district. Emergency services are working at the scene.

Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa Oblast Military Administration, reported later that port, critical and residential infrastructure facilities had been damaged in Odesa as a result of the nighttime Russian attack.

Quote from Kiper: "The façade walls and windows of at least three high-rise buildings have been destroyed, and student accommodation and adjacent buildings have been damaged. Fires have broken out at some infrastructure sites as a result of the strike. Work is ongoing to contain the damage."

Background: Early reports indicated that five people had been injured in the Russian attack on Odesa on the night of 15-16 April.
