“Threat of ballistic weapons from the east!” the Air Force said in an alert.

The Kyiv City Military Administration said Russian drones were flying over Ukraine and warned residents to seek shelter. It also reported activity by Russian strategic aviation and launches of cruise missiles from enemy ships.

“Please take care of your safety and use shelters,” the administration said.

According to the Air Force, Russian forces were also attacking Dnipro and Zaporizhzhia with missiles.

Kyiv placed on alert amid drone threat

As of 1:33 a.m., Kyiv authorities said an air raid alert had been declared in the capital because of the threat posed by Russian attack drones.

The Air Force also reported groups of drones moving across many regions.

By 1:46 a.m., the military warned of a threat of ballistic missile use from the northeast.

Air raid alerts covered a significant part of Ukraine overnight, according to the national alert map.

Kalibr missiles launched from Caspian Sea

Earlier in the night, Ukraine’s Air Force said Russian forces had launched Kalibr cruise missiles toward Ukraine from the Caspian Sea.

Russian Attack on Dnipro Kills 9, Including Child, Kharkiv Also Hit

Russian overnight strikes killed 9 people and wounded at least 35 in Dnipro, Ukrainian authorities said. The attack partially destroyed a two-story building and damaged apartments in a four-story building. Kharkiv was also hit in two districts as Russia launched a wider missile and drone assault across Ukraine, including Kalibr cruise missiles, ballistic threats, drone groups and strikes on Kyiv.

“Attention! Launches of Kalibr-type cruise missiles from the Caspian Sea have been detected,” the Air Force said.

The military estimated that the missiles could enter Ukrainian airspace around 2 a.m. and urged Ukrainians not to ignore air raid sirens.

Zelensky warned of another massive strike

The latest overnight attack came after President Volodymyr Zelensky said intelligence warnings about possible Russian strikes remained in force and that Moscow was preparing another massive attack.

Zelensky said Ukraine was treating the reports seriously and that the country remained on high alert.

He also stressed that strengthening Ukraine’s air defenses and securing more interceptors remained one of Kyiv’s top priorities.

Russia has repeatedly launched combined missile and drone attacks against Ukrainian cities, energy infrastructure and civilian areas. Ukrainian officials continue to urge residents to remain in shelters during alerts.
