Armenia will hold its annual Eagle Partner 2026 military exercises June 17–25, with three NATO member countries participating, as the country prepares its forces for international peacekeeping missions, the Defense Ministry announced.
The exercises will draw 250 participants from Armenia’s peacekeeping brigade, along with 58 from the U.S. Army Europe and Africa and the Kansas National Guard, 24 from France, and 11 from Greece.
Participants will train on skills needed to plan and carry out peacekeeping missions. The exercises are designed to improve interoperability between units, share best practices, and boost the readiness of Armenia’s peacekeeping forces.
The exercises are being held in a four-way format for the first time, the Russian news outlet Interfax notes. Previously, only Armenia and the United States participated in the Eagle Partner exercises, which were first held in September 2023.
The joint military exercises between Armenia and NATO countries will take place against a backdrop of deteriorating relations between Yerevan and Moscow.
