Four people were injured in a Russian drone attack on a gas station in Sumy on June 25.
According to Ukrinform, Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, reported this on Facebook.
He said that two gas station employees were hospitalized. Preliminary reports indicate that their injuries are not serious.
A married couple who were near the strike site were also injured. They received medical assistance but were not hospitalized.
As Hryhorov emphasized, the Russians have been relentlessly targeting gas stations in the region for a year now, systematically striking fuel infrastructure facilities to disrupt logistics and the supply of fuel to communities. In June alone, 13 attacks on gas stations in the Sumy region were recorded.
“The situation is under control. We are in contact with gas station management in the region and the relevant services. Should the situation worsen, we have established procedures in place to meet the needs of local communities. At the same time, we see that fuel infrastructure remains a target for the enemy,” stated the head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration, urging everyone to remain vigilant and, during air raid alerts and threats of strikes, to stay away from gas stations, critical infrastructure, and industrial facilities, and to seek shelter or move to other safer locations.
As reported by Ukrinform, it was previously known that two people were injured in Sumy as a result of Russian attacks on the morning of June 25. A 66-year-old man was injured when a strike hit a residential area on the outskirts of Sumy. The fire caused by a strike from a Russian Geran UAV damaged the infrastructure of a gas station in the Zarichnyi district of the city. A woman was injured and taken to the hospital.
