Consumers left without power in six regions after massive Russian attack – Ukrenergo

As of the morning of July 6, consumers in six Ukrainian regions remain without electricity following a large-scale Russian attack and continued strikes.

According to Ukrinform, Ukraine's power grid operator Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.

"Russia carried out another massive missile and drone attack, including strikes on civilian energy infrastructure. As of this morning, the attacks have caused new power outages in the Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions," the statement said.

Ukrenergo noted that repair crews have begun restoration work wherever the security situation permits.

Separately, thunderstorms and strong winds left 58 settlements in the Sumy region fully or partially without electricity. Regional power utility crews have already begun repairing damaged power lines.

As of 09:30 on Monday, electricity consumption was 13.8% lower than on the previous working day, July 3. Ukrenergo attributed the decline to significantly cooler weather across Ukraine, which has reduced the need for air conditioning.

"The use of high-power electrical appliances should be shifted to the period when industrial solar power plants operate most efficiently, from 10:00 to 16:00. Please use electricity responsibly," the power grid operator said.

As reported, Ukraine's air defense forces neutralized 37 missiles and 326 drones launched by Russian forces in attacks that began on the evening of July 5.

In Kyiv, 11 people were killed and 46 others were injured in the Russian attack on July 6.
