In the temporarily occupied Crimea, numerous explosions were heard overnight on Friday, June 26; residents reported a drone attack and shooting.
According to Ukrinform, the Crimean Wind Telegram channel reported this.
Explosions were reported in Kerch, particularly near the ferry crossing. Residents reported seeing drones approaching the city, as well as activity from Russian air defense systems.
A fire was reported at the airfield near Kerch, where Russian military forces have deployed Pantsir-S1 air defense systems and radar stations.
Explosion sounds were also heard in Krasnoperekopsk and in the area of the Saky Airfield in Novofedorivka.
Russian invaders closed the Crimean Bridge to vehicular traffic.
Ukrinform reported that recent strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces on facilities that support the Russian army in occupied Crimea have caused significant logistical issues for Russia, affecting fuel supplies, electricity, and transportation. As a result, the peninsula itself is effectively subject to a concealed martial law.
